Application
The dispersing machine is used in-line in order to produce solutions, suspensions, emulsions or dispersions, whereby combinations of powder/liquid, liquid/liquid and gas/liquid are possible. Amongst other things, the machine is used for dissolving milk powder, cocoa powder, pectin, sugar etc., but can also prepare titanium dioxide, bentonite, cement suspensions and washing water emulsions.

Working
The working of the In-Line dispersing machine relies on exploiting the shearing forces and collision energy. Due to the high peripheral velocity of the rotor the liquid achieves a high acceleration and collides with the impact faces of the stationary stator, as a result of which high-frequency vibrations are caused that intensify the mixing action. The pump operation, depending on the number of mixing chambers and product, makes it possible to transport the liquid to a tank at a higher level.

In the standarddesign a "low shear" working is achieved at 50 Hz. With help of a frequency-controller the frequency can be set and raised up to 80 Hz.  This will increase the peripheral velocity substantial and a "high shear" is achieved. It can be intensified in a double-chamber design.

Design

The dispersing machine can be designed with 1 or 2 mixing chambers (rotor-stator). The inlet and outlet are provided with DIN 11851 milkcouplings. The rotor-stator system is available with various numbers of impact faces and in various capacities.

The peripheral velocity of the rotor can go up to 15 m/s (mediumshear) at 50 Hz. With a frequency-controller it can be increased to 24 m/s (high shear).

The machine can be installed both vertically and horizontally. The shaft seal can be by means of a radial seal, packing grid or sliding ring seal, as required.

The drive can be a fixed speed or variable speed drive. All parts coming into contact with the product are made from 316 stainless steel.
